My Grad porject

because my project is based around making electrical power. To do this I need to know about how generators work.

  • generators use mechanical power to make electricity
  • the first of these was built by Michael Faraday in 1831
  • and it is this generator that is the predecessor for all modern power generators
  • there are many different types of generators, gas or diesel which use a motor to turn the generator, there is manual where you would crank it your self, and there is hydro which uses a river or flowing water source to turn the generator.
  • the hoover dam uses water and generators to make enough electricity to light up all the lights in Las Vegas and then some
  • many people today depend on generators for electricity, in there houses , in there cars and also for the lights on the streets.
